What a joy it was to capture Skylar and Sam’s wedding! These two got married at the gorgeous venue; The Barn at Water Oaks Farm. They celebrated becoming Mr. and Mrs. with a small ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends, including their little twins! This wedding was extra special to me because I have actually known Skylar since 2014, when she was a senior model rep for me! Even 7 years ago, it was so evident how important family was to Skylar and she found a partner who has the same love of family.
Skylar and Sam had known of each other for a while before they met, and as soon as they did it was an instant connection! They started their own family with their twins and Sam proposed when they came home as a family of 4.
“We had just gotten home from our twins being born and in the NICU for 3 weeks. I was sitting in bed with the babies and he brought out the ring and asked me in our bedroom. It’s a moment I’ll never forget. I was overwhelmed with love and happiness,” said Skylar.
These two see the best in each other and it’s so evident in how they talk about each other! I asked Sam what he loved most about Skyler and he talked about how strong and independent Skylar is, as well as an amazing mother.
On the day of their wedding, they had their twins enter the ceremony in a little wagon and it was adorable! They were such good babies all day long. As I said, for these two, family is everything and it was heartwarming to see that even in the stress and hurry of a wedding day, their whole families were all smiles and I could feel how happy everyone was.
One of my personal favorite moments of the night was the father daughter dance, it was truly a special moment for them and it took me back to Skylar's senior photo session when she asked me if I would take a picture of her dancing with her daddy. There's something so precious about a father and daughter's relationship.
They closed out their reception by hanging out with their friends around a campfire, laughing and sharing memories and finishing the night with a bubble exit!
I absolutely love being a part of my couples special day and getting to capture the magic of it for them. Skylar, Sam, Emerson and McKinley, I wish you a wonderful life together and can’t wait to see where it takes you!

A wedding at The Barn at Water Oaks Farm is truly a beautiful experience with its sprawling landscape and rustic style it is full of classic southern charm.
It is simply a southern brides dream venue,
and set the tone for the Jones wedding perfectly!
It seems so fitting that this wedding, this couple and this young bride would inspire me to tell their story that was so beautifully shared on their wedding day. I have known Haley and her family for a long time, they are a very dear and close to my heart. Haley was also my first assistant so, not only have I watched her grow she has seen my growth as well. I have also been blessed to be able to capture some special and precious moments in her life, from senior portraits to the births of their first and second child
the engagement and now their wedding day.
Their wedding day was beautiful, we never let the rain hinder us from capturing the excitement of this moment, as the rain dissipated and the sun began to shine, so did the bride and groom. This was their day, and it was a beautiful example of the love and dedication they have for each other. I believe that this was evident to the family and friends that were there to share in their moment. One of the many special touches was Haley's grandfather who is a minister, performed the wedding ceremony his thoughtful words of wisdom and God's love that he spoke over the Cody and Haley were heartfelt and moving. I wondered to myself if he was thinking about his own wedding day, in which he and his bride had just celebrated 60 years of marriage. Cody and Haley both shared their handwritten vows of promise and enduring love with each other. I know, I myself shed a few joyous tears during this ceremony. Many special memories were made here at this Memorial Day wedding.
This beautiful family full of faith, devotion and dedication to one another is an example of what
marriage, family and commitment is all about.
I pray the Lord's continued blessings over Cody, Haley, Quinn and Callahan as they begin this new chapter together as one. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Jones!
